Five years ago, Rwanda established the Rwanda Green Fund, known locally as FONERWA, to invest in public and private projects that align with the country’s commitment to building a green economy. The fund has so far mobilised approximately over US $100 million (Rwf 80 billion) and approved more than 35 investments in climate resilient initiatives.
