According to the Allianz Global Wealth Report 2020, South Africa ranks 38th in the ranking of the richest countries. This is with net financial assets per capita of $8 385. The gross financial assets of South African households rose by 6.7 per cent in 2019, after declining by almost 4 per cent in the previous year.
