According to a report by Flourish Ventures, 66 per cent of gig workers across the globe reported a large decline in income, with ridesharing drivers being hardest hit. In 2020, unemployment rates have increased due to the COVID-19 outbreak and in the post pandemic world, the gig economy is considered to become more important and more vital, especially in Africa.
