Climate change is the biggest threat to the future of African cities. This is according to Knight Frank’s Africa Horizons Report 2021/22, which states that African cities are getting warmer and extreme weather changes are going to have a direct impact of the environment within cities and increase the move towards urban migration. Moreover, the report notes that the ability of African cities to emerge resilient from the pandemic will depend on their ability to innovate, providing long term social solutions to their residents, attracting funding and generating new demand for space.
