Malaria is the leading deadly disease on the continent, killing more than 400,000 people a year. A potential malaria vaccine has proven to be about 77 per cent effective in early clinical trials, suggesting it could be a possible breakthrough in the fight against the disease. Professor Halidou Tinto, Principal Investigator of the vaccine trial spoke with CNBC Africa for more.
