South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir reconstituted parliament on Monday night, paving the way for the formation of the Revitalized Transitional Legislative Assembly as stipulated in the 2018 peace agreement. On Wednesday, through a presidential decree read on state-run television, South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation, Kiir appointed 550 lawmakers from all parties who signed the revitalized peace accord.
