KAMPALA, Aug 2 (Reuters) – The Ugandan shilling was firmer on Friday, supported by a slowdown in demand for dollars from commercial banks and merchandise importers, traders said.

At 0940 GMT commercial banks quoted the shilling at 3,720/3,730, stronger than Thursday’s closing rate of 3,730/3,740.
