Angola’s National Oil, Gas and Biofuel’s Agency (ANPG) is organizing two question and answer sessions, aimed at investors globally to clarify information on its ongoing bid round for onshore oil and gas blocks in the Congo and Namibe basins.

The question and answer sessions, which will be hosted via webinar, will shine a spotlight on oil and gas blocks in the Congo and Namibe basins currently on offer in the ongoing bid round. Agency personnel will be on hand to answer any questions pertaining to the ongoing bid round, whether they are technical, legal or otherwise.
The agency, which counts on Energy Capital &#038; Power for support of its communication efforts, will host the two sessions on May 12. The first session will be from 08:30 to 10:30 and the second one will be from 15:00 to 17:00.
Angola’s current licensing round – along with existing gas monetization and downstream initiatives – represents a rare opportunity for Asian and U.S. energy firms to expand their activities in sub-Saharan Africa’s second-largest oil and gas market. 
Through the bid round, Angola is inviting a new wave of explorers to take advantage of promising opportunities in its onshore basins, that are expected to yield commercial discoveries, expand existing datasets and increase geological knowledge of Angola’s hydrocarbon potential. Given the associated lower exploration risk profile of the onshore basins on offer, Angola’s history of successful discoveries, and estimates that put the estimated recoverable resources at commercial quantities, demand is likely to be high. Furthermore, Presidential Decree 6/19 incentivizes marginal field investment via attractive fiscal terms, the development of small-scale, unconventional resources and thus presents high-return opportunities for junior, independent and indigenous explorers.

#AfricaMonth2021: May Africa prosper

Twenty-seven patients have been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in tests carried out today at Quarantine Centers in Central, Southern Red Sea, and Northern Red Sea Regions.

Out of these, seventeen patients are from Quarantine Centers Asmara, Central Region.  Nine patients are from Quarantine Centers in Assab (8), and Rahaita (1); Southern Red Sea Region. The last patient is from a Quarantine Center in Massawa, Northern Red Sea Region.
On the other hand, sixty-four patients who have been receiving medical treatment in hospitals in the Northern Red Sea (52), and Central (12), Regions have recovered fully and have been discharged from these facilities.
The total number of recovered patients to date has accordingly risen to 3602 while the number of deaths stands at 12.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country to date has also increased to 3734.

Member associations can now apply for additional support and access to coaching resources for eligible coaches and players who hold at least a C Licence; New FIFA scholarships (www.FIFA.com) to offer funding to help empower more female coaches, as well as players looking to gain further coaching qualifications during or after their playing careers.

Following the launch of the FIFA Women’s Development Programme last year and in line with its overall objective of developing more qualified female coaches in the game, FIFA has announced today that the application process for Coach Education Scholarships is now open.
Under the project, which is one of eight available within the FIFA Women’s Development Programme (https://fifa.fans/2PU6UuD), member associations can now apply for Coach Education Scholarships for eligible individuals, including talented coaches and players who are looking to gain further coaching qualifications.
As part of the scholarships, which aim to empower more female coaches to gain further coaching qualifications, FIFA will provide financial support for successful applicants to cover the cost of their coach education courses. The successful applicants will also have access to online mentoring and other coaching resources that will further assist their coaching development.
The application process for Coach Education Scholarships starts today and will be one of two application windows in 2021, whereby every member association can put forward one candidate per application window. The closing dates for the two application windows are as follows:
 	30 June 2021 – closing of the first application window 	31 October 2021 – closing of the second application window 
To apply for the Coach Education Scholarships, member associations should submit the completed application form (https://fifa.fans/3erloMe) and the required documents of their eligible applicants.

FIFA (www.FIFA.com) can confirm that in conjunction with CAF and taking into consideration the current disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to ensure optimal playing conditions for all teams, it has been decided to postpone the African qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️ that were due to be played in June 2021.

The qualifiers are now scheduled to take place in the existing windows of September, October and November 2021, and March 2022.

The final leg of the joint CAF and FIFA (www.FIFA.com) mission to West Africa featured a visit Sierra Leone, where meetings with the Head of State Brigadier General Dr Julius Maada Bio, Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Isha Johansen and national sports officials focused on the unifying power of football and its ability to bring people together despite their differences.

”Football is life for many people in Sierra Leone and of course in Africa as a whole,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “We at FIFA want to be part of the process of helping develop football in Sierra Leone and we want to make sure that this country shines with opportunities through the game because after all, football represents talent, life and joy, much of which we have already seen since arriving here.”
Following the meeting at State House, the FIFA President also expressed his appreciation to President Bio for his contribution to the development of football in Sierra Leone and the unique role that football plays in the social fabric of a country by uniting all people, while also stressing the urgency of organising the SLFA’s elective congress.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe echoed these messages and congratulated President Bio on his thought leadership and vision, before promising to support Sierra Leone in hosting the Africa Cup of Nations as soon as it could.
Before departing for Lungi airport, the joint CAF-FIFA delegation met briefly with football fans and local authorities, exchanging on the outcome of their meeting with President Bio.
