ACBF to adopt roadmap for new mid-term strategy

The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) is gearing up for its 31st annual meeting of the Board of Governors with a focus on developing its mid-term strategy for the future. Mamadou Biteye, the newly appointed Executive Secretary of ACBF, recently joined CNBC Africa to discuss the important agenda for the upcoming meeting. Biteye highlighted the significance of the annual meeting, describing it as a crucial opportunity to report on the foundation's activities over the past five years and gather insights for the development of the next five-year strategy. The ACBF aims to align its strategic direction with the continent's major priorities and individual country needs to maximize its impact and support the sustainable development of African nations. Biteye emphasized the foundation's commitment to enhancing institutional capacity building, supporting economic planning ministries, parliamentarians, and universities to drive national development plans and policies. He acknowledged the foundation's past achievements in capacity building but also underlined the ongoing challenges and the need to address pressing issues such as youth unemployment, building resilience to shocks, and developing digital skills to navigate the evolving global economy. Biteye expressed optimism about ACBF's ability to contribute to the realization of Africa's development agenda and the successful implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). With strong partnerships and support from member states, ACBF is poised to play a significant role in advancing Africa's growth and prosperity.
