Pate: Nigeria, Afreximbank sign $1bn deal to finance healthcare

Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Ali Pate says the government and Afreximbank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a commitment of $1 billion to support the country’s health systems. In a chat with CNBC Africa, he notes achieving universal health coverage in the country is hinged on 4 pillars which includes exploring more partnerships with development partners and private sector to revamp the government’s health response strategy.
