AfDB, EU to finance $300mn Uganda-South Sudan power interconnection project

South Sudan is set to scale-up power connectivity through a joint project being funded by the African Development Bank and the European Union. The $300 million power interconnection project will connect thousands of households and help fix the energy challenges the country faces. South Sudan has among the lowest power connections rate at 8.4 per cent making the country uncompetitive as power prices are extremely high. CNBC Africa’s Aby Agina spoke to Akol Dok, Managing Partner at Orus for more.
