Africa & the global smartphone market

Africa’s smartphone market remains strong and is poised for a 4 per cent growth in 2024, according to research. Despite volatile currencies and uncertainty in most economies, smartphone shipments into the continent keep soaring and some of the factors that appear to be acting as catalysts to this trend are the rising demand for digital services, skyrocketing social media engagements and the proliferation of various financing plans such as the ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ option.
