<p>The Africa Investment Forum has been a great place to talk to traditional lenders about being more flexible in the way risk is underwritten in Africa and about being more patient in expectation of returns. <p>The Ghana Cocoa Board has signed a historic $600 million deal at the Africa Investment Forum. At present, with Africa accounting for only 2 per cent of a $120 billion annual global chocolate market, a boost like this could help Ghana take up a larger share of the cocoa value chain. Among other issues, they also discussed a specific transformational intergovernmental agreement that was signed between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Congo Brazzaville today. Africa50 provided the legal framework for a bridge project that will link the two capital cities to be developed under a Public-Private Partnership framework.</p>
