<p>As the world gears up for the African Development Bank&#8217;s (AfDB) Africa Investment Forum 2019, AfDB President, Akinwumi Adesina says one of the distinct additions to this year&#8217;s forum is that the African Development Bank will work with all commercial banks across Africa, development finance institutions, global Sovereign Wealth Funds as well as pension funds. On the side-lines of the Hallmarks of Labour event in Lagos, where he won the Emeka Anyaoku Lifetime Achievement award, Dr. Adesina joins CNBC Africa&#8217;s Christy Cole for more.</p>

<p>This week out out of Biarritz, France, news of a G7 approved $251 million in support African women entrepreneurs has arrived. The package has been committed to African Development Bank’s (AfDB) Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa initiative and is reported to be a direct response to the demand by women to ease access to financing that was assigned to the AfDB back in 2015. To give her reaction to the news, Gloria Kamanzi, Chairperson of the African Women Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP) joins CNBC Africa for more.</p>

<p>Africa aims to halve poverty and end hunger by 2025 amid climate change and other setbacks that may hinder those targets. To explain the role financiers are playing in addressing this, Martin Fregene, Director of Agriculture &#038; Agro-Industry at the African Development Bank (AfDB) joins CBNC Africa for more.</p>

<p>NAIROBI (Reuters) &#8211; The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a $98 million financial package for Ethiopia for a road transport corridor project to neighbouring Djibouti, it said late on Tuesday.</p>



<p>The project’s total cost is $255 million, comprising an AfDB grant of $98 million to Ethiopia’s government and an AfDB grant of $5.3 million to Djibouti’s government, plus a co-financing contribution of $151 million by Ethiopia’s government.</p>



<p>“The project will enhance trade by significantly reducing transport costs, thereby accelerating the economic growth of Ethiopia and its neighbour Djibouti, as it is part of the main import-export corridor,” the AfDB said in a statement.</p>

<p>For regional integration to be successful in the Central African region there must be strong political commitment. This is according to Ousmane Dore the Director General of the Central Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery of the African Development Bank.
