<p>South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir reconstituted parliament on Monday night, paving the way for the formation of the Revitalized Transitional Legislative Assembly as stipulated in the 2018 peace agreement. On Wednesday, through a presidential decree read on state-run television, South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation, Kiir appointed 550 lawmakers from all parties who signed the revitalized peace accord. <p>Technology company Prosus has announced plans to acquire up to 45.4 per cent of its parent Naspers by issuing new shares. <p>The second half of 2020 saw the emergence of moderate to strong La Niña conditions. La Niña, which refers to the abnormal cooling of surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean, brings about water scarcity in some areas and floods in others. According to the latest report from Standard Bank, La Niña conditions are now weakening. However, they could emerge again in early summer.
