Egypt to produce over 4.5 mln tons of rice this harvest season, official says

Nov 2 (Reuters) – Egypt will produce more than 4.5 million tons of rice in the current local harvest season, an agriculture ministry official told Reuters on Saturday.

The country will have a surplus of rice production this year and will not need to import, the ministry’s Ahmed Edham added.
