Eni prepares to resume drilling at Egypt’s Zohr gas field

MILAN, Jan 3 (Reuters) – Italy’s Eni is preparing to resume drilling at Egypt’s offshore gas field Zohr, a spokesman for the energy group said on Friday, confirming previous comments by the African country’s ministry of petroleum and mineral resources.

“The drilling vessel Saipem 10000 is completing operations and is scheduled to move to Egypt in the coming weeks where it will begin a drilling campaign, using modern technologies, with the aim of increasing gas production,” the spokesman said.
